A 4-Part Zoom Series
Tuesdays: April 28th, May 5, May 12, and May 19th

9 a.m. PT / 10 a.m. MT / 11 a.m. CT / 12 p.m. ET

As part of our 150th Anniversary celebration and Jewish Heritage Month, this four-part series will explore the unique relationship between Jews and America. Each session will be accompanied by one or more related articles, which may be shared in advance or following the program. Presentations will be approximately 30 minutes in length, followed by a moderated Q&A. Each session will run for one hour total.

How the idea of “Zion” helped to shape America as “the new Israel” and how this concept has been significant in building this country and in creating the special relationship between Washington and Jerusalem. Many of the principles associated with American liberty and democracy are framed in Jewish texts.

Part Four: Jews and American Racism/Anti-Semitism

What are the roots associated with hate in America, and how has it manifested itself over these 250 years. In our closing program, we will explore the evolution of “Jewish power,” political influence, and communal advocacy.  Here, we will take a particular look at the emergence and development of the ADL and explore some to the challenges as well as opportunities that lie ahead for our community.
